The League Club Chooses the Lighthouse of Collier as the recipient of a $10,000 grant

The League Club, Inc. has chosen the Lighthouse of Collier as the recipient of a $10,000 grant to help fund its free Summer Camp for children who are blind or visually impaired that runs from July 9th through August 3rd. This camp is specifically designed for children with vision loss to help them participate in adapted games, and adapted activities that will increase participant independence and confidence. The donation provides funds to purchase Educational supplies including tools for assessment, field trips, and supplies needed for adapted arts and crafts.

At a breakfast held on April 5, 2018, The League Club awarded $327,970 in grants from its Community Trust Fund to 30 local non-profit agencies in Collier and Lee Counties. Since 1987, The League Club has granted over 4.2 million to 15 local non-profit agencies.

The League Club, Inc. is a 501 (C) (3) organization of Southwest Florida strengthening communities through fellowship, education, volunteerism, and philanthropy. The League Club women have also contributed thousands of volunteer hours in various areas. Members have served on numerous agency boards, worked in childcare and adult centers, with illiterate and homeless, in conservation and arts groups and in churches.
