The Children’s Program provides children with the opportunity to learn through monthly children’s events, summer camp, and one-on-one sessions. The education curriculum focuses on helping children with the following: compensatory skills, such as communication modes; orientation and mobility; social interaction skills; independent living skills; recreation and leisure skills; career education; use of assistive technology; self-determination; and visual efficiency skills. Lighthouse of Collier works to ensure that the child, the child’s caregiver and teachers have a good understanding how they too play an important role in the child’s education success and progression through school.
