Coping with Vision Loss
and much more......

As we have demonstrated, Lighthouse of Collier has succeeded in creating a supportive/caring environment where blind or visually impaired individuals and their caregivers can meet.  As stated below, the testimonials from very satisfied clients firmly support Lighthouse of Collier’s mission is succeeding:

“If you have a loved one who is affected by vision loss, I encourage you to seek the programs and services of Lighthouse of Collier, a Center for Blindness and Vision Loss, located in Naples.  My ninety year old mother has been fortunate to benefit by many valuable services provided by Lighthouse.  Along with vision loss goes a loss of much independence and often a decline in the quality of life.  Lighthouse has enhanced by mom's life in several ways.

Very compassionate individuals have established a supportive line of communication with my mother.  Sometimes just a phone call from Lighthouse makes a huge difference in her day.  Likewise, my mom feels completely comfortable calling the center with questions or concerns.

In addition, Lighthouse has provided my mom with a reading machine, along with the necessary training to assist in the use of this technology.  This has been a huge boost to my mom's morale, making it possible for her to actually read material that has been impossible for her to see for quite a while.

Home visits from Lighthouse personnel have also proven to be a valuable benefit.  Through the patience and support of such a visiting individual, my mom learned to make slight adaptations in order to once again be capable of playing card games she and my dad have enjoyed for years. That was an exciting day!

Thank you, Lighthouse! You have made such a positive difference for our whole family.  If I lived in your area, I would be honored to become an active volunteer at your center.”
